Hingis cools talk of a comeback
Martina Hingis
Martina Hingis said she had no plans to play more tournaments after her 1-6 6-2 6-2 defeat to Marlene Weingartner at the Volvo Women's Open on Tuesday.

"I've never had plans further than this step. Maybe I'll play some exhibitions. That's my plan," she said.

"At this point I have no plans to play any more tournaments," she said.

The former world number one was thought to be using the Thai event as a test for a full-time return after two years out with an ankle injury.

The Swiss player, 24, won 40 singles titles and 36 doubles titles in a sparkling career, including 14 Grand Slam crowns in singles and doubles

She held the world number one ranking for 209 weeks.
