Dokic grabs long-awaited victory
Jelena Dokic
Former world number four Jelena Dokic made a winning start to her season at the Volvo Women's Open in Thailand.

Dokic was on a nine-match losing streak when she took three months off to undergo surgery to remove her tonsils and correct a breathing problem.

But after missing the Australian Open, she bounced back on Monday with a 7-6 (7-3) 6-3 win over Anne Kremer - her first WTA Tour victory since April.

She said: "I'm taking small steps but I feel I have some good tennis left."

Former world number one Martina Hingis will make her return to action after two years out on Tuesday.
