Juan Ignacio Chela was fined US$2,000 (1,067) for spitting at Lleyton Hewitt during their ill-tempered third round match at the Australian Open. The Argentine took objection to a trademark Hewitt shout of "Come on" after he had missed an easy volley and spat in his opponent's direction.
Hewitt, who won 6-2 4-6 6-1 6-4, said he would not take the matter further.
However, tournament organsisers fined Chela for "unsportsmanlike conduct" after reviewing video footage.
