Organisers of the Masters Series events have admitted their concern at the spate of withdrawals by top players. Roger Federer pulled out of Paris next week and, along with Lleyton Hewitt and Carlos Moya, missed the Madrid tournament last week.
"We are more than concerned by the situation, which is not acceptable," Paris Masters director Alain Riou said.
"We're discussing solutions and in due course the necessary decisions will be made. Sanctions are not tough enough."
