Davenport has won Wimbledon and the US and Australian Opens

Lindsay Davenport admitted she is unlikely to play at Wimbledon again after her semi-final defeat to 17-year-old Maria Sharapova.

The 28-year-old has repeatedly said she may retire at the end of the year after 13 years on the tour.

"I'd be surpised if I was back," said the American.

"I've had an amazing and very long career but the wins don't get me as excited any more, and the losses don't hurt as much."

Davenport won the title in 1999 and said it was hard to leave the All England Club behind.

"I've had great memories out there," she said. "It was a little bittersweet to walk off a court where I've had some great moments.

"Winning was obviously the sweetest memory, playing Steff Graf in the 1999 finals.

"To beat her of all players was pretty remarkable. Everything seemed to fall into place for the two weeks."
