Second set
Henman 6-3 6-7 (8-10) Sanchez
Henman has an early chance for a break point but his chip and charge skids into the net. His cause worsens when he is broken the very next point. Sanchez, growing in confidence, goes 3-0 clear with a mesmeric drop shot.
Henman comes back to 2-4 down, more through Sanchez's lacklustre tennis than anything else. He then cuts the lead by another point with two sensationally athletic volleys.
But it all goes temporarily wrong as he finds himself battling to save three set points - two of which he does on his own serve and the third when Sanchez volleys into the net.
The Spaniard, though, gets further chances, finally doing the honours at the sixth time of asking.

The pressure is on Henman from the outset, as he serves to stay in the set. There are glimmers of inconsistency on his serve as it goes to 40-40 but he holds firm to force the tie-break.
Henman 6-3 5-6 Sanchez
This time it's all about attrition tennis from the back of the court. Needless to say Sanchez, as a clay-court specialist, gains the upper hand. He sets up a chance for the set as Henman unleashes arguably his most wayward shot of the match.
Henman 6-3 5-5 Sanchez

Time and again on the first point, Sanchez smashes the ball overhead only for Henman to get it back. The Spaniard eventually gains the upper hand in the end. A 5-4 lead is then his as a Henman volley goes well long.

Both players stretch each other in game seven of the match but once again Henman's shot selection is too good. An angled volley to set up three game points is the pick of his repertoire.
