British number one Tim Henman says he is determined to recover from his Olympic disappointment to launch a strong challenge in the US Open. Henman crashed out of the Olympics at the first hurdle with 6-3 6-3 loss to Jiri Novak but is now focusing on his build-up to Flushing Meadows.
The 29-year-old went out in the first round of the US Open last year, losing to eventual winner Andy Roddick.
"I must now focus on having a successful US Open," he said.
"The last few weeks have been difficult as just when I wanted to get back onto the practice court after Wimbledon, my back stiffened up.
"However, my back seems to have eased up now and if I can stay healthy my intention is to get back on the practice court as soon as possible to try and regain my form and confidence in time for the Open in New York."
