Jennifer Capriati has withdrawn from this week's Indian Wells tournament in California because of a back injury. The world number five has aggravated an injury she sustained at the WTA Championships last November.
Capriati, who reached the semi-finals of last year's event, will be replaced in the main draw by fellow American Jill Craybas.
World number three Amelie Mauresmo of France withdrew from the competition last Friday because of a back injury.
