ATP reply to Rusedski claim
The full text of the ATP's response to Greg Rusedski's comments that he would like to work with the authorities to clear up rules on drugs in tennis, after he was cleared of a doping offence.

"The ATP welcomes Greg Rusedski's willingness to assist the ATP in getting to the bottom of the contamination situation in men's tennis, and we also look forward to continuing discussions to help him get back into the game.

"As Mr Rusedski acknowledged, this has not been a pleasant experience for anyone involved, and that includes the ATP and its player and tournament members.

"The ATP currently is investigating the cause of the contamination, and also has convened a taskforce on supplements that includes some prominent players to look at the broad issue of supplement use in sports."

"As Mr Rusedski noted in his news conference, this is not a doping problem, it is an issue of contamination.

"The ATP welcomes the input from Mr Rusedski in these two separate and important endeavours.

"The ATP has expanded its ongoing investigation into nandrolone contamination with the appointment of Dr Peter Hemmersbach, who heads the doping analysis section at the Hormone Lab of the Aker University Hospital in Norway, and the Honourable Robert Ellicott, QC, former Australian Solicitor General and Attorney General, and a member of the IAAF (International Amateur Athletic Federation) Panel of arbitrators.

"ATP is committed to identifying and eliminating the cause of the contamination, and is committing the resources needed to do the job.

"Like Mr Rusedski, the ATP looks forward to returning to promoting the talent of the players who have sparked a growing interest in the ATP circuit."
