Ivanisevic has not played since June 2003 |
Former Wimbledon champion Goran Ivanisevic has been handed two wildcards as he attempts to make his competitive comeback. The Croat, who has been sidelined with a knee injury, returns to action at the ATP Milan Indoors tournament which starts on 9 February.
Ivanisevic will then head to Rotterdam for the World Indoor tournament which he won eight years ago.
The 32-year-old former Wimbledon winner has not played since June last year.
The organisers of the Milan decided to give Ivanisevic a wild card entry as he won the tournament in 1996 and 1997.
Jiri Novak, defending champion Martin Verkerk, Nicolas Escude and Spanish teenager Rafael Nadal-Parera will also feature in the event.
Richard Krajicek, who is now the tournament director in Rotterdam, has also given wildcards to Dutchmen Raemon Sluiter and John van Lottum.
