The World Anti Doping Agency (Wada) has offered to help the ATP with their investigation into positive nandrolone tests in men's tennis. The governing body of men's tennis recently absolved seven players of guilt for positive tests after admitting that its own trainers had administered the drug.
Bohdan Ulihrach was already serving a ban for the offence, while the six other players had yet to be named.
A spokesman for Wada told BBC Radio Five Live that the ATP had responded positively to the offer, but that the two bodies had to agree on the appropriate "terms of reference".
He added that he was concerned that Wada were concerned that different sports bodies were handling positive drugs tests in different ways.
"If we have the door widening for excuses, reasons and so forth for taking banned substances we are opening up a situation that up until now has been well contained by that strict liability approach," he said.
"All sport wishes to see that competitors and athletes in other sports are dealt with in the same way as theirs."
