Rebecca Miskin joins the LTA from dance music empire Ministry of Sound, where she was head of the company's media arm. The 37-year-old, who played tennis to county standard, will be responsible for getting more people to play tennis and will take up her new role in March. Before joining Ministry of Sound, Miskin was chief executive of internet portal Excite. And while both companies had their difficulties, Miskin was praised for her efforts in keeping Excite afloat for as long as possible. Miskin's appointment is intended to leave the new performance director - a post still vacant - to work with the country's top players. Patrice Hagelauer resigned as performance director in December to take charge of France's Davis Cup team. | See also: 05 Jan 03 | Tennis 17 Dec 02 | Tennis 17 Dec 02 | Tennis 17 Dec 02 | Tennis Top Tennis stories now: Links to more Tennis stories are at the foot of the page. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
