Johansson survives French test
Thomas Johansson
Johansson bounced back after losing the first set
Fourth seed Thomas Johansson recovered from a slow start to reach the second round of the Lyon Grand Prix.

Johansson lost the first set against Frenchman Fabrice Santoro but came back to win 5-7 7-6 6-2.

The Swede joins Australia's Wayne Arthurs and Chilean sixth seed Fernando Gonzalez in the last 16.

Arthurs, who is ranked 43rd in the world, took an hour and 45 minutes to beat Spaniard Fernando Vicente 7-6 6-7 6-4.

He will now face top seed Marat Safin or French 16-year-old Richard Gasquet, who play their first-round match on Tuesday evening.

Gonzalez beat Argentine Jose Acasuso 6-4 7-5 and will take on the winner of the all-French match between Arnaud Clement and Julien Benneteau.

Swiss veteran Marc Rosset made his way into the main draw from the qualifiers by beating Victor Hanescu of Romania 6-3 7-6.
