The 15-year-old hit the headlines when he became the youngest-ever qualifier for a Tennis Masters Series event when he reached the second round in Monte Carlo last month. Now he has taken victory in the LTA Futures tournament - and done so without dropping a set. Gasquet defeated Czech player Jaroslav Levinsky 6-3 6-1 in the final, winning 1,350 in prize money. But the manner in which he swept through the West Hants Club draw again hinted at greater rewards to follow. He conceded just 22 games in his seven matches and is now expected to improve his world ranking of 372. In April, Gasquet beat French Open semi-finalist Franco Squillari in the first round of the Monte Carlo Masters before losing in straight sets to Marat Safin. He has been given a wild card entry into this month's French Open at Roland Garros. | Other top Tennis stories: Links to more Tennis stories are at the foot of the page. | ||
