Morariu faces toughest fight
Tennis player Corina Morariu is undergoing chemotherapy after being diagnosed with leukemia
Morariu is undergoing chemotherapy in Florida
Former Wimbledon doubles champion Corina Morariu has been diagnosed with a rare form of leukaemia and is undergoing treatment.

The 23-year-old from Florida, who partnered Lindsay Davenport to the title in 1999, was forced to withdraw from the German Open in Berlin two weeks ago.

She returned home where she was diagnosed with acute promyelocytic leukaemia.

According to her agents IMG, she is undergoing chemotherapy at an unnamed hospital in Florida.

Her husband and coach Andrew Turcinovich is with her.

Both Morariu's father and brother are doctors and they are working with the specialists who are treating her.

Morariu, who has won twelve WTA Tour doubles titles and one singles crown, took the Australian Open mixed doubles earlier this year with South African Ellis Ferreira.

"Corina is a very hard worker and optimistic," said her agent David Egdes.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with her and her family, and we all wish for a speedy recovery."
