The Scottish Football Association are likely to take legal action against QC Paul McBride as they are so sure they have a strong defamation case against him. (Daily Record)

Referees' observer Willie Young recommended that the SFA throw the book at Rangers defender Madjid Bougherra for grabbing official Calum Murray's wrist.

Former referee Young gave the advice in his report following the Scottish Cup match at Celtic Park in which Bougherra was sent off. (Sun)

Meanwhile, the SFA will replace the seven-man disciplinary committee with their own compliance officer who will be able to flag up incidents within 48 hours and issue punishments from a pre-agreed list of sanctions. (Sun)
