And Smith, due to leave Ibrox for a second this summer, feels Rangers' Co-operative Insurance Cup win on Sunday dispels a theory about how his first tenure at the club ended. Scotland defender Gary Caldwell insists the national squad will not abuse coach Craig Levein's trust while they are in La Manga. Levein has lifted the alcohol ban imposed on the players since his arrival in the job. (Various)

Meanwhile, Caldwell says he does not miss "what comes with being a Celtic player" and has described the fall-out from the recent Old Firm Scottish Cup tie as "crazy". (Various)

The Scottish Premier League may reschedule Rangers' postponed fixtures with Dundee United and St Johnstone with a 6pm kick-off on midweek evenings to avoid clashes with Champions League matches that typically start at 7.45pm. (Daily Mail)

St Mirren have enlisted the help of a sports psychologist to help them overcome their tendency to lose late goals (the Record)

Hamilton manager Billy Reid admits he wonders how his season may have turned out differently if he had accepted the offer to become Swansea boss last summer. (the Record)
