Predictor punters strike it lucky
Predictor winners Iain Sharp with Paul Archibald and presenter Richard Gordon
The odds of predicting all six scores was 200,000 to 1
What are the odds of predicting all six correct scores over a Scottish Premier League weekend?

Around 200,000/1 if you were to take a punt with the bookies. But BBC Sport Scotland's online score game has produced two winners in the same week.

Paul Archibald from Aberdeen and Iain Sharp from Falkirk both guessed the exact outcomes earlier this month.

SPL sponsors Bank of Scotland will now send the winners off to a match of their choice - anywhere in the world.

The Predictor, now in its third season, allows members of the public to challenge the BBC Scotland football pundits at their own game.

Users try to accumulate the highest score by predicting the scores of Premier League games.

Each week, players can earn three points if they get the scoreline correct or one point for a result, while jokers can be used to double points for any given match.

And, for the first time, all six results have been guessed correctly and the Predictor Grand Prize has been claimed.

Now Falkirk fan Iain and Aberdeen supporter Paul are pouring over the fixture lists in far-flung places following their triumph on BBC Sport Scotland's Predictor game.

Paul, 21, currently in his fourth year of an accountancy degree at Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen, said: "This is fantastic news. I play The Predictor regularly but have never been anywhere near getting all the right results before.

"I haven't made up my mind yet, but I will probably go with a friend to one of the big matches in South America."

Iain, 51, a maintenance planner at an oil refinery in Grangemouth, said: "I'm delighted. I've been playing The Predictor for three years without coming close.

"I've been searching the internet for the best matches to go to. At first, I was thinking of the Champions League Final in Athens, but I think I might go with a pal to one of the big matches in Rio."

Both players have won two tickets to any game in the world - plus accommodation and travel for two, courtesy of the Bank of Scotland Premier League.

Richard Gordon, host of BBC Radio Scotland's Sportsound programme, who came top of the table last season after he successfully predicted the highest number of results overall, was at Hampden to congratulate the winners.

The odds were stacked heavily against both of them and it was amazing that they scored their successes on the same weekend

"What a result for Paul and Iain," said Gordon.

"The Predictor is a popular game among our listeners, viewers and users of our online offerings.

"The odds were stacked heavily against both of them and it was amazing that they scored their successes on the same weekend."

On the weekend of 11/12/13 November, the results and odds were as follows:

Aberdeen 2-1 Motherwell (7/1)
Dundee Utd 1-0 Kilmarnock (7/1)
Hibernian 2-0 Inverness CT (7/1)
Rangers 2-0 Dunfermline (5/1)
St Mirren 1-3 Celtic (9/1)
Falkirk 1-1 Hearts (11/2)
