Aled Brew made his Wales debut against Ireland in the 2007 Six Nations

Wales have called wing Aled Brew in to train ahead of the autumn Tests say his region, Newport Gwent Dragons.

Coach Warren Gatland has an injury concern over Scarlet George North, 18, one of two uncapped players in the squad for the four Tests.

Brew, 24, told the Dragons website: "This is a great opportunity to prove my case to the national selector."

Blues prop Scott Andrews, 21, is the other uncapped player in a squad that sees a host of familiar faces return

Brew has been in good form for the Dragons since returning there for the start of last season and Gatland admitted the player was unlucky to have missed out on the original selection.

The Scarlets do not expect North to recover from an ankle injury for between two and three weeks and their coach, Nigel Davies, believes the teenager needs more game time with them before being considered by Wales.

Brew is delighted with an opportunity to add to his three Wales caps, saying: "I'm really pleased with the rugby I've played for the Dragons over the last two seasons and I feel I've developed a greater consistency in my game.

"I know that this is a great opportunity to prove my case to the national selectors and I'll certainly be doing everything I can to secure a place in the Welsh squad in the future."

Gatland will not confirm Ryan Jones continues as skipper until he names the side to face Australia on 6 November at the Millennium Stadium.

Shane Williams, Martyn Williams, James Hook, Gethin Jenkins, Ian Gough and Tom Shanklin return to the 33-man squad.

George North has made a big impact for the Scarlets this season

Scarlets wing North, 18, and Blues prop Andrews, 21, have impressed this term.

Gatland was expected to recall the available senior players that missed the summer's unsuccessful two-Test tour to New Zealand.

They again face the All Blacks this time at home on 27 November, when they will have faced the Wallabies, South Africa and Fiji.

Wales enter the November Tests having won just two of their last 31 encounters against the 'big three' of the southern hemisphere, those wins coming against Australia in 2005 and 2008.

Gatland was unable to include centre Jamie Roberts, whose recovery from a wrist injury is not expected to be complete until December.

There are also no non-Welsh based players in the squad, leaving Sale's British and Irish Lions scrum-half Dwayne Peel, Wasps number eight Andy Powell, Saracens prop Rhys Gill, Brive forward Alix Popham, Gloucester fly-half Nicky Robinson and his Agen-based centre brother Jamie on the sidelines.

Hook and wing Williams have recovered from shoulder injuries, prop Jenkins is back after a calf problem, flanker Sam Warburton is fit after suffering a jaw fracture while Gough returns and Luke Charteris misses out.

Experienced flanker Martyn Williams, opted to rest for Wales' summer campaign and will be available after being banned for two weeks after pleading guilty to foul play in the Cardiff Blues' 18-17 Heineken Cup win over Edinburgh.

Young pair Ospreys fly-half Dan Biggar, who suffered neck spasms in Friday's Heineken Cup win over London Irish, and Scarlets centre Jonathan Davies (ankle) were fitness concerns for Gatland but are expected to be fit for the 6 November opener with the Wallabies.

Gatland said: "We will assess form and pick our team and then name the captain, it has to be in that order, but there is little to suggest to us that it will not be Ryan [Jones] again, he needs a little more game time, but we are more than happy with what he offers in a leadership capacity.

"It has been good to see some of our senior players who we missed out on the summer tour back and fully fit for their regions who have acquitted themselves reasonably well in Europe.

"And to be able to select a fully fit Shane Williams, James Hook or Gethin Jenkins is a big lift for us.

"Scott Andrews has been doing well technically, physically he is in good shape, we have had our eye on him at the Blues and he has been in and around the squad for a while.

"George North is only young but really set the start of the season on fire with his form. He is a big, physical player, last time I saw a pair of thighs like that was on some of the Samoans back in New Zealand.

"He's carrying an injury at the moment but hopefully he'll be back in the next few weeks and will benefit from the experience of being around the national squad."

Cardiff Blues wing Chris Czekaj, who won his last cap on Wales' 2009 tour of north America, is absent despite impressing this season while Wasps number eight Andy Powell also misses out return after his recent return to form.

Dragons wing Aled Brew misses out but team-mate Will Harries is included along with Ospreys' teenager Tom Prydie.

Wales' November Tests signal the start of their preparations for the 2011 Rugby World Cup in New Zealand that kicks off in September.
