Holah has been a regular in the Ospreys side this season |
Marty Holah has warned the Ospreys they need to cut out mistakes if they are to beat Leinster in Saturday's Magners League Grand Final. The New Zealander says Leinster's game-plan is based around pouncing on chances as they did against the Ospreys in the regular season. "The good thing about Leinster is they are such a clinical side," said Holah. "All they do is grind out the game and wait and pick up opportunities to pick up points." Leinster finished top of the Magners League with 55 points, three points ahead of the Ospreys in second. The Irish side have won the last six meetings between the two sides including last month's 20-16 victory at the Royal Dublin Society Showground [RDS]. "We can probably take a lot out of when we went there in the second-to-last game of the season," said back-rower Holah who has featured 16 times in the league this season. "We did a whole lot of good things on the field but didn't take our chances. "They picked up two easy tries, one for an intercept and one for a miss-tackle which led to a try from me personally. | 606: DEBATE |
"If we can put them under pressure and tidy up our own mistakes that will make it really tough for them because they don't really bring a whole lot outside of their game plan." Holah, 33, believes the introduction of an end-of season play-off to the has provided a boost to the Magners League. The Ospreys reached the final after beating Glasgow 20-5 at the Liberty Stadium, while Leinster beat Munster 16-6 at the RDS. "We're pretty pumped about the game," added Holah, who won 36 caps for New Zealand. "It's always a funny end to the season over here once you're out of the Heineken Cup because the Magners League just patters along to the end. "But this year with the semi-finals and the final it's been quite exciting. As you saw two weeks ago, there's quite a lot of competition between six teams to get into those semi-final positions and it's a healthy competition."
