Star-studded Toulon have former New Zealand captain Tana Umaga back in their squad for the game Meanwhile, Biarritz have lost the services of their Samoan international Pelu Taele. The 6ft 6ins New Zealand-born lock is set to sit out the next six weeks after damaging the medial ligament in his knee in last weekend's Top 14 victory over Toulouse in San Sebastian. Argentina international Manuel Carizza is likely to replace Taele as Jerome Thion's partner against the Ospreys. The Liberty Stadium side still hope to have Wales and British and Irish Lions lock Alun Wyn Jones back after surgery. Wyn Jones hopes to face Biarritz |
The 24-year-old chipped a bone in his left elbow and damaged ligaments tackling Sean Lamont in Wales' bruising 31-24 win over Scotland in Cardiff. "Alun is making excellent progress at the moment and is ahead of schedule," said Ospreys forwards coach Jonathan Humphreys. "He is one of our best professionals and is leaving no stone unturned. He has given himself a real chance of being fit for Biarritz. "We have a lot of big rugby to play in the next three weeks and we're coming to the business end of the season. "He went into the Wales camp with an injury after the Leicester Tigers game and played through the pain during the Six Nations. "So maybe the injury was a blessing as he wouldn't have had a break otherwise."
