Biggar says he will boss Lions Roberts and Peel either side of him
Dan Biggar has set his long-term sights on claiming the Wales fly-half jersey held by Lions Test star Stephen Jones.
The Ospreys youngster, 20, will win his fourth cap when he starts at 10 against Samoa in Friday's Test in Cardiff.
Jones will be wary of the confident Biggar, who has already achieved his pre-season aim of displacing James Hook from the Ospreys fly-half position.
"It's a long-term process for me, I'm looking to threaten Steve's place in the next couple of years," said Biggar.
"It's a bit like the situation I was in at the Ospreys last season with me and James, I hope in the next few seasons I can really push Steve for the starting jersey.

"At the minute Steve's in pole position, I don't think anyone can argue with that.
"But if I can put in a good performance on Friday it could be the first step on the ladder.
"I'm focusing no further than Friday, I've been given an opportunity by the coaches and I need to take that and lay down a marker.
"I'd love to be in contention against Argentina and Australia, but I certainly won't lose any sleep if I'm not involved."
Biggar has impressed all observers this season, including Wales coach Warren Gatland.
"We need to look at options at 10," said the New Zealander.
"We see him as a player who is the next generation of number 10s in Wales.
"He has shown all the right signs of a young 10 who is mature beyond his years. We think he is going to have a significant impact on Welsh rugby."
The Welsh management have made a point of flanking Biggar with Lions Test players Dwayne Peel and Jamie Roberts.
Peel relishing return for Wales
"I played a bit with Dan on the summer tour of North America, and he's played particularly well for the Ospreys this season," said scrum-half Peel.
"It's going to be an exciting time for him and I'm sure he'll be an exciting player for Wales for many years to come.
"It's important for the more experienced members of the squad to step up and really lead the team - I'll do that and with Tom Shanklin outside we'll give him some of the experience we've gained.
"I'm sure he won't need much looking after out there and he'll tell people if they do something wrong - he's confident and likes to boss the game, he's very loud on the pitch and understands the game well."
Hook happy to continue at 15
Biggar's precocious leadership skills have been cited by the Ospreys as the reason he has moved above Hook in their fly-half pecking order, and the youngster makes no secret of his verbosity.
"I've got a Lion inside me [scrum-half Peel] and a Lion outside me [inside centre Roberts], with players like that there's always a good chance succeed and do well," he said.
"I'll be my own man. Anyone who knows me and has played with or against me knows that I'm confident.
"I make the calls - that's my job. Whatever experience Dwayne and Jamie have got, the 10 is almost like a general - I'll be in charge and they have to go along with that."
The cocksure Biggar also reserved a line for injured Ospreys, Wales and Lions scrum-half Mike Phillips.
When asked whether it would take time to adjust to playing outside Peel rather than Phillips, he joked: "Hopefully with Dwayne I might actually get the ball!"
