Captain Ryan Jones is treated after the first minute challenge |
Wales skipper Ryan Jones and Tom James will have scans on injuries suffered against the United States on their return from tour on Monday. James partially dislocated a shoulder during Wales' win over the USA while Jones took a blow to the head in the first minute of Wales' 48-15 win. Jones came off on 20 minutes after failing to recover from a first minute clash with Eagles prop Will Johnson. "He had a pretty fair clout on his head," said tour boss Robin McBryde. "We gave him time to try and get over it... but unfortunately he wasn't able to," said McBryde. "As to how bad it was we'll have to catch up with the physiotherapists." McBryde described his side's performance as similar to last week's 32-23 win over Canada. | 606: DEBATE |
But he added: "We were hoping for a little bit more accuracy, for them to be more clinical than what we were and perhaps, looking back, I'm being a bit tough on the boys because of the changes we had to make because of injury. "On the positive side of things, the boys that came on and played in those positions were fantastic, especially someone like Sam Warburton." Prop Duncan Jones says he is pleased with the way Wales ended their North America tour. "A lot of people put their hands up on this tour and I'm sure accuracy will come with it," he said.
