Ryan Jones is not taking Canada lightly |
Ryan Jones insists Wales will not be taking Canada lightly despite their 55-0 hammering at the hands of Ireland. The Wales captain, who is one of only three survivors from the side which lost to South Africa, is expecting a hard examination. "It's going to be a pretty tough, physical encounter," he said. "But we've got to make sure we perform with the same endeavour we did at the weekend. You can't go out there and be anything less than ruthless." For the Canada clash Jones moves from blind-side flanker to number eight as the only forward to survive from the South Africa clash. He takes over from Andy Powell, the man of the match against South Africa, who is on the replacements bench and expected to return to the starting line-up against New Zealand. Added Jones: " It's just nice to be in the team. It's a six-day turnaround - we'll just make sure we are fit and ready." In the backline Martin Roberts wins his first cap at scrum-half and Leigh Halfpenny makes his second appearance on the wing after an encouraging debut against South Africa.
