Ospreys flanker Marty Holah was outstanding at Twickenham

Flanker Marty Holah praised the Ospreys' recovery from Heineken Cup disappointment after beating Leicester 23-6 in the EDF Energy Cup final.

"It was tough to pick ourselves up after the loss to Saracens, but we re-focused in midweek," said the Kiwi, man-of-the-match in the Twickenham win.

"We knew they would take us on up front so credit to the front five, it was a massive team effort to win this."

The Ospreys are the first Welsh side to win the Anglo-Welsh tournament.

The victory eases pressure on Ospreys coach Lyn Jones, as it was the big-spending west Glamorgan region's last chance to claim silverware in 2007/8, although the bulk of his squad won the Grand Slam with Wales.

"That was a very important turning point for us, we've crossed that line of getting a win in a big game," said Jones, whose side lost 41-35 in the final to Leicester last year.

"We've learnt a lot from Leicester, in the last final and in Heineken Cup clashes.

"The Saracens defeat was a kick in the pants, we were devastated. (But) There was a very positive attitude from everyone today.

"Coming here, I knew we were going to win and it was a comprehensive performance from one to 15.

"This was our day. We're absolutely delighted, now we have to build on this success."

Tigers captain Martin Corry admitted his side had been outplayed by their Welsh opponents.

"We were second best by quite some way," said the back-row forward.

"You've got to give credit to the Ospreys defence, we just couldn't get into our game, get the foundation and win the sort of ball we thrive on.

"We can't feel sorry for ourselves as we've got to go to Bath on Tuesday in the Guinness Premiership and there's only one trophy left for us to play for now."
