Dan Parks kicked the winning points for Glasgow |
Glasgow 9 (3) Pens: Parks 3 Ospreys 6 (6) Pens: Connor 2 Glasgow secured a morale-boosting victory against Ospreys in torrential rain at Firhill in Glasgow. Dan Parks converted the winning penalty with nine minutes remaining in a game where he and Shaun Connor were the only scorers with a series of penalties. Two quick Connor scores in succession before the interval looked to have Ospreys on course for victory. But Parks, who spurned a couple of chances to increase his points tally, kept his nerve to seal the win. Glasgow looked the hungrier side in the early exchanges and their early effort was rewarded after just three minutes. The Ospreys were guilty of handling on the deck - leaving Parks to stroke over a penalty from 20 metres. The hosts continued to dominate without possessing the cutting edge to create try-scoring opportunities. | 606: DEBATE |
And they were stunned when Ospreys seized the initiative courtesy of two Connor penalties in quick succession midway through the half. Warriors skipper Ally Kellock was forced off with a knee problem shortly after the interval. Parks then levelled the match with another 45-metre potshot at goal. Even better was to come from Parks as he drilled home his third penalty - making light of the treacherous conditions. Ospreys piled on the pressure in the dying seconds, but the Warriors held on for victory.
