Richard Webster has left his role as Cardiff Blues forwards coach to take the head coach position at Swansea RFC. The dual-code Wales international takes the place of Tony Clement, who stepped down at the end of the season.
Former open-side flanker Webster played for the All Whites 1985-94, toured with the Lions in 1993, and won the Heineken Cup with Bath after a spell in league.
Keith Colclough will remain as forwards coach, with ex-Llanelli full-back Ian Jones in as the new backs coach.
Team manager Ian Hopkins will keep his position at St Helen's.
Swansea have recruited Wales Under-18 outside-half Daniel Biggar for the new season.
He will be joined at half-back by scrum-half Rhodri Wells, who returns to the club after a season with Cornish Pirates.
The All Whites have released two other scrum-halves, Iwan Mainwaring and Jonathan Hooper, while flanker Rory Gallagher is returning to Dunvant RFC where he will take the captaincy.
