Injury woes open way for Henson
Gavin Henson in action in the first Test defeat to Australia
Henson looked sharp as a replacement in the first Test loss
Centres Sonny Parker and Jamie Robinson are doubts for Wales' second Test with Australia, meaning Gavin Henson could win a recall in Brisbane on Saturday.

The duo took knocks to the hip in the agonising 29-23 first Test defeat, Henson looking sharp as a replacement.

Injuries to Aled Brew (ligament) and Brent Cockbain (head) will be assessed.

With Matthew Rees flying home for the birth of his child, Richard Hibbard, Steve Jones and Mefin Davies contest the hooker berth, Davies the favourite.

606: DEBATE

A torn calf muscle ruled Gareth Williams out of the tour before he had a chance to feature, while Davies' line-out accuracy could be of big benefit given Wales' struggles to secure possession at Sydney's Telstra Stadium.

Cockbain was taken off injured in the first half last week, Michael Owen coming on at lock, but the Queensland-born second-row is expected to be fit for the Suncorp Stadium game.

Gavin proved to all of us he's still skilled and has an an appetite for the game

Wales coach Gareth Jenkins

Henson's appearance from the bench was his first competitive rugby since January, the Ospreys star having overcome the groin injury that kept him out of the Six Nations and season run-in.

"Gav did well when he came on," said Wales coach Gareth Jenkins.

"It was always the case that we brought him on the tour to give him an opportunity if the situation was right.

"It was right to bring him on in the second-half and he proved to all of us he's still skilled and has an an appetite for the game."

*Wales have delayed naming their team for the second Test until later in the week.

Full details will appear on BBC Radio Wales, Radio Cymru and our interactive services.
