Morgan took several blows to his face against Scotland |
Wales full-back Kevin Morgan could miss the rest of the RBS Six Nations campaign because of a broken jaw. Morgan requires an operation on the injury, suffered in the 21-9 defeat to Scotland, and has been ruled out of the visit to France on 24 February.
Number eight Ryan Jones could also miss the Paris match after suffering a calf strain at Murrayfield.
"Kevin's availability for the rest of the Championship is uncertain," said Wales physiotherapist Mark Davies.
"But we are not ruling out a return at this stage. With the aim of achieving the earliest return to action it has been decided that Kevin will undergo an operation.
"Ryan suffered a calf strain and, although his recovery has been substantial in the last couple of days, we will not know until the end of the week whether he will be able to take a full part in training ahead of our visit to France."

There was some injury relief for Wales, though, as James Hook was given the all-clear after a scan on his knee showed no structural damage.
"Essentially he has suffered a bleed from his thigh into the back of his knee which will mean he will take no part in training this week," said Davies.
"But the prospects of him rejoining full contact training next Monday are high."
The injury to Morgan, who has been one of Wales' best performers in this season's tournament, leaves coach Gareth Jenkins with few full-back options.
Gareth Thomas is suspended and the experiment to play Gavin Henson at full-back for the Ospreys last month came to little.
But Lee Byrne is set to return from injury to play for the Ospreys in the Magners League against Connacht on Saturday, and could be rushed straight into the national side to face France.
Winger Shane Williams is also fit after shaking off the illness that struck him down last week and overcoming the side strain which forced him out of the opening Six Nations game against Ireland.
Bath number eight Gareth Delve is still sidelined with an ankle injury, but Wales hope to have him back in training next week.
Jenkins has released 15 players back to their regions and clubs, but the Cardiff Blues contingent will stay in camp since the region has no fixture.
Alix Popham, Dwayne Peel, Stephen Jones, Mark Jones, Duncan Jones, Alun Wyn Jones and Ian Gough are the only fit players to be rested.
"Some of the players are in need of rugby matches and will relish the chance to turn out for their regions and show their form.
"We have always said as coaches that the door is never shut on any player and we will be watching all the regions and relevant English Premiership matches this weekend with great interest.
"Those players who have not been made available are withheld due to the need for an extended period of recovery or through injury."
