Rogers started his club career in Wales with Bridgend |
Former Wales prop Peter Rogers has come out of retirement to sign for Welsh Premiership side Bridgend. The 38-year-old, once regarded as one of the world's best scrummagers, quit the professional game three years ago after being released by Cardiff.
But Rogers says he is ready to play one last season and hopes to pass on his experience to Bridgend's young props.
"I'm sure the pre-season training will get me back on form as I haven't lost any of my strength," said Rogers.
"I don't think there are enough specialist scrummaging coaches around and that's something I would seriously consider doing if the opportunity arose."
Rogers, who won 18 caps for Wales, will join the rest of the Bridgend squad on Tuesday for their first pre-season training session.
Former Wales lock Chris Stephens is head coach at Bridgend and is assisted by former Wales prop Hugh Williams-Jones.
The Ravens finished a disappointing 11th in last season's Welsh Premiership.
