Higgitt retains Wales ambitions
Rob Higgitt
Ruthin-man Higgitt has had spells with Caerphilly and Ebbw Vale
Bristol centre Rob Higgitt says he has not given up hope of playing for Wales.

"I have come through the English system and played for Bristol, but I am Welsh and I want to play for my country," said the 25-year-old Ruthin man.

"Bristol have been great to me and have given me an opportunity, but I certainly wouldn't rule out playing in Wales again at some stage, either."

Higgitt has had previous stints with Caerphilly and Ebbw Vale, and signed a new two-year Bristol deal last March.

He says that much of his approach to rugby was learnt under former Caerphilly coach Mark Ring.

"I went on loan from Bristol to Virginia Park for a year when Mark Ring was in charge," said Higgitt.

"It was a real eye-opener for me and where I learnt to appreciate the skills you need for the game.

"He was getting on a bit back then, but even then he still had great skills."
