Stewart has plenty of Celtic League experience |
New Dragons signing Shane Stewart says he is relishing the chance of getting the troubled region back on track. The New Zealand-born centre has joined the Rodney Parade outfit after six seasons with Ulster.
"I know there's going to be a bit of pressure because the Dragons have had a bad year, but it's an opportunity for everyone in the squad," he said.
"There are a lot of quality players here, many of them internationals. It's going to be an exciting challenge."
Dragons coach Paul Turner has instigated a radical overhaul in response to last season's disappointments that saw his side finishing the worst-placed Welsh side in the Celtic League.

Their woes were then confounded when they lost a Heineken Cup play-off to the third-best Italian side Overmach Parma.
As well as signing 27-year-old Stewart, Turner has recruited another eight players as 16 players have either left or retired.
One of the new recruits, hooker Ben Daley is confident he can provide the bulk to beef up the Dragons pack.
"I feel I'm pretty solid in the set pieces and it's going to be demanding and much more physical here," said the former Viadana man.
"We will be looking to consolidate and get the basics right, using that as a springboard to get back into the Heineken Cup."
