Ryan Jones needed reconstructive surgery on a damaged shoulder |
Wales and Lions pair Brent Cockbain and Ryan Jones, plus Ospreys team-mate David Bishop are on course to start the new season following serious injury. Cockbain (detached hamstring), Jones (shoulder reconstruction) and Bishop (fractured kneecap) were all forced to sit out most of last season injured.
But the trio have rejoined the core Ospreys squad for pre-season training.
"It is brilliant to be a part of things again, 2007 is going to be massive for the Ospreys and Wales," Jones said.
"There's the World Cup... but I am taking nothing for granted and will be grateful just to get back on the field."
Ospreys conditioning coach Huw Bevan added: "We have got really back into the swing of things this week after the holiday break and it is great to have Ryan, Brent and Bish back with the squad.
"The boys have just started a concentrated conditioning period and the guys returning from their long-term injuries will take a full part in the programme.
"We do not start our rugby phase for a few weeks but it is great to have these guys back on board."
