Howard Stone has accepted the role of forwards coach at Cardiff RFC, having been axed as head coach last month. The former number eight will work under new director of coaching Justin Burnell with Gruff Rees in charge of the backs.
The Arms Park side have signed wing Daniel Gravell (Llanelli), scrum-half Llyr Lane (Doncaster) and wing or centre Tom James (Merthyr).
Prop Gareth McCarthy (Newport) joins with three Pontypool forwards - Matthew Amos, Dafydd Rosser and Gavin Lucas.
The majority of last season's squad who have been offered new contracts have already agreed to stay.
The Blue and Blacks are expected to be joined by several members of the Blues' Academy who will be attached to the semi-professional side when required.
Cardiff RFC have arranged two pre-season fixtures. The first is in Scotland against Selkirk on the weekend of 18-21 August, when the team will also take part in the prestigious Selkirk Sevens,
The other is at Bridgewater on 26 August.
