Morgan says he still has Wales ambitions |
Neath-man Scott Morgan is poised to sign for a Welsh region after agreeing a release from relegated Leeds Tykes. The 6ft 7ins, 27-year-old lock cum flanker has interested the Scarlets and Ospreys, but is expected to sign a three-year deal with the Blues.
"I asked to be released and Leeds agreed, I have spoken to a number of clubs in Wales and will make a decision soon," Morgan told the Wales on Sunday.
Morgan has played for Neath, Llanelli, Bristol and Wales Under-21.
He joined the Tykes from the Memorial Ground in May 2003, and went on to make 53 starts for the club and 13 appearances from the bench.
"I am a totally different player from the one people will remember playing in Wales," said Morgan.
Thomas could interest the Scarlets or the Dragons |
"I still have ambitions to play for my country. Playing in Wales against people already in the squad is the best way to do that."
Former Wales back-rower Nathan Thomas has also been released by Leeds and is seeking a deal in Wales.
The 30-year-old, who started his career at home-town club Bridgend, moved to the Tykes from the Blues last summer, having previously enjoyed seven years at Bath.
Thomas could interest the Dragons, who missed out on the signing of another ex-Leeds flanker, Richard Parks, to Perpignan.
The Scarlets are also in the market for a back-rower following the shoulder injury to Dafydd Jones.
