Phillips is looking to clinch the league and cup double this season |
Neath have rewarded coach Rowland Phillips with a new three-year contract after he secured the Premiership title for a second successive year. "The club has shown tremendous faith in me since my appointment three years ago," said 40-year-old Phillips.
"I am pleased to be able to repay some of that faith by signing up for the foreseeable future."
Neath chairman Geraint Hawkes said: "Rowland has been a key part of the success of Neath Rugby."
The semi-professional side are hoping to complete a league and cup double on Saturday when they play Pontypridd in the Konica Minolta Cup final at the Millennium Stadium.
Hawkes added: "The success he has achieved during his relatively short coaching career has attracted interest from other top clubs and it is a tribute to us all that we have secured his signature.
"Rowland has his own goals as a rugby coach and I am pleased that Neath Rugby has been able to satisfy his ambition."
Back row forward Phillips won 10 caps for Wales from 1987-90 and spent most of playing career at Neath.
He took over the Welsh All Blacks in 2003 when Lyn Jones left to coach the newly formed Neath-Swansea Ospreys regional side.
