Wyatt is out of contract in the summer |
Llanelli Scarlets lock Chris Wyatt has agreed to join Heineken Cup finalists Munster next season. The 30-year-old, 6ft 5in lock - who has 38 caps to his name - is out of contract at Stradey Park this summer.
"It's great that a player of Chris Wyatt's stature is joining our squad," said Munster coach Declan Kidney.
"I think he'll be an invaluable presence particularly when our international contingent are away on national squad duty."
Wyatt, meanwhile, said his switch is a dream move. "I still want to be playing at the highest level possible and playing as much rugby as I can," he said.
Wyatt has made 280 appearances for Llanelli and the Scarlets since moving west from Neath in December 1995.
The Newport man retains international ambitions, but has struggled for a Scarlets spot this season.
He will be competing with the likes of Paul O'Connell, Donncha O'Callaghan and Mick O'Driscoll for a place in the Munster starting line-up.
His last Wales cap came as a replacement against New Zealand in the 2003 World Cup.
