Cardiff Blues eased to a bonus-point Celtic League victory over Glasgow on a muddy Arms Park pitch on Friday night. Two tries in as many minutes from Mike Phillips and Nick Robinson set the Blues on their way, and Chris Czekaj added a third before half-time.
Martyn Williams and Andy Powell benefited from dominant forward play to score shortly after the break.
Nick Robinson kicked three conversions, while Glasgow's only points came from a first-half Dan Parks penalty.
The Glasgow players had obviously missed Phillips' man-of-the-match performance for Wales against France last Saturday as the scrum-half made a trademark break to score after 20 minutes.
Maama Molitika secured quick ball from the lineout and Phillips' dummy pass and sidestep carved open the Glasgow defence for him to score near the posts.
The Blues struck almost straight from the kick-off thanks to some fine footballing skills.
After Glasgow had spilled the slippery ball just outside their own 22, Jamie Robinson hacked it on, Craig Morgan followed suit and Nick Robinson scored after his own deft kick ahead.
Robinson was less accurate his conversion, though, as he failed to match his earlier successful attempt.
Glasgow had started brightly, but they conceded another try before the break which effectively ended the match as a contest.
Full-back Rhys Williams was the creator this time as he fed winger Czekaj after bursting through two would-be tacklers just outside Glasgow's 22.
Robinson failed with the conversion from the right touchline, but the Blues were totally in control at 17-3 up going into the break.
The Blues needed just eight minutes of the second half to score their fourth try and secure a bonus point in the process.
Deiniol Jones won lineout ball inside the Glasgow 22 and Glasgow had no answer to the subsequent driving maul which ended with flanker Williams scoring. Robinson converted.
The fifth home try on 66 minutes was almost a carbon copy as Andy Powell, on for Williams, powered his way over from a close-range lineout.
Cardiff Blues coach Dai Young:
"We said at half-time we wanted more of the same in the second half. "We needed to kill them off and I thought the boys went out there and really put them to the sword.
"There were a lot of good performances out there, but I thought it was a real good team performance."
