Llanelli Scarlets have taken on six of the region's academy youngsters on professional development contracts. Ian Jones (prop), Rhys Priestland (fly-half), Rob McCusker (flanker), Lou Reed (lock), Liam Davies and Lee Williams (scrum halves) sign on.
They join Ceiron Thomas, Gavin Evans and Darren Daniel in making up the Scarlets' development squad.
"We're committed to development, long term the academy will provide most of our senior squad," said Gareth Jenkins.
"They'll train and develop as members of the Scarlets squad as we manage their transition into the professional game," added the Scarlets' director of rugby.
