Walker hopes the Ospreys switch will boost his Scotland chances

The 24-year-old, who has three Scotland caps, will join the Welsh region at the end of the current season.

"My time with the Borders has been great and I have been fortunate to be involved with a lot of very good players and coaches," Walker said.

The 6ft 4in wing has not played Test rugby since November 2002 and hopes the move can boost his Scotland chances.

"The current Borders set-up is going from strength to strength, but I need to make a move at this stage of my career," Walker added.

"I want to push as hard as possible for a place in the Scotland squad for next year's World Cup and I think playing in a new and challenging environment will give me that opportunity."

Walker will contest the wing berths at the Liberty Stadium with the likes of Lions and Wales wing Shane Williams, Richard Mustoe and former Springbok Stefan Terblanche.

Walker becomes the second Reivers player this week to announce he is to join a Welsh region, after Scotland lock Scott MacLeod signed a two-year deal with Llanelli Scarlets.
