Aled Brew will join his brother Nathan at the Dragons |
The Ospreys have agreed to loan Wales Under-21 wing Aled Brew to Newport Gwent Dragons for the 2006/7 season. Brew, 19, is contracted with the Ospreys until June 2008, but has had limited first-team opportunities at the west Wales region.
"I'm thankful to the Ospreys for giving me this chance to prove my worth and I hope to be returning with more top-level experience," said Brew.
He will join his Welsh international brother Nathan at Rodney Parade.
"We have received several enquiries regarding Aled's future and at this stage of his career it's important that he's exposed to as much quality rugby as is possible," said Ospreys regional rugby manager Derwyn Jones.
"With a loan move, Aled will remain contracted to the Ospreys. This is something that we regularly see in football and rugby should be no different.
"The Dragons have assured us that Aled will be given an opportunity to play and he is happy to make this temporary loan move, with a view to returning to the Ospreys for the season after next.
"We will be monitoring his progress with a great deal of interest."
