Ryan Jones admits his head is still spinning after a year in which his rise has been the definition of meteoric. Last season the backrow, 24, started off securing a starting Ospreys place, but finished as a Lions Test player.
"I've tried to put what's happened to me into some perspective, but I don't know where to start," Jones said.
"I've got my first Wales cap, my first sending-off, been injured, won a Grand Slam and the Celtic League, and played in three Lions Tests."
It is a rollercoaster year by any standards, so the 6ft 5in player can be forgiven for still going around wide-eyed at what has happened to him.
"It's just been a whirlwind, I don't know how I've got to where I am now, it seems to have spiralled out of my control and I've just ridden the wave," said Jones.
"But it's important not to get carried away - I'm 24 years of age and there's still plenty of time for everything to go belly-up!
"However, the Lions tour is something that is going to live with me forever, it's a fantastic thing to be a part of.
"It's as special as anyone who has ever been on a Lions trip has said - it's something that come around very rarely and something that was fantastic to be a part of."
