Llewellyn has been playing with Narbonne for the past year |
Gareth Llewellyn says his deal with Bristol has given a new lease of life. "I've always fancied another crack at the Premiership after four great years there with Harlequins," said Wales' record cap holder (92), now aged 36.
"I didn't take another year with Narbonne for family reasons and felt there would be no options in Wales.
"I've played the Celtic League, in France and in England - they're great experiences in rugby and in life."
Llewellyn moves from Narbonne on a one-year contract, following previous stints with the Ospreys, Neath (twice) and Quins. He finally retired from international rugby at the end of the 2005 Six Nations.
"I've been looking to add some experience to the team," said Bristol coach Richard Hill.
"With the likes of Mark Regan and Gareth we'll have a really strong spine to the side.
"We've been talking for a few weeks now and I'm absolutely delighted to add someone of his calibre and experience to the squad."
