Taylor left in cold by Scarlets
Mark Taylor
Wales and Lions centre Mark Taylor has admitted to concerns for his playing future after the Scarlets turned down a proposed move to Toulouse.

The 32-year-old will be released by the Llanelli side at the end of the season, but they say that it is not in their interests to let him go now.

"I know I'm coming towards my career's end," Taylor told the Wales on Sunday.

"I need to start lining up a job for next year, I probably only have a couple of seasons left at this level."

Toulouse, who have an injury crisis amongst their three-quarters, have not yet given up hope of landing the 48-cap man, whilst a move to Sale Sharks has also been touted.

Taylor moved to Stradey Park from Swansea at the end of the 2002/3 season, but has had his Scarlets career blighted by injury and illness.

He has missed most of this season after a bout of chicken pox that led to the development of a serious eye infection, but the Llanelli side say he is very much in their plans for their four remaining Celtic League games and for the Celtic Cup.
