Chris Horsman has completed his official three-year Wales residency |
Worcester prop Chris Horsman has completed his three-year residential qualification period to play for Wales. The tight-head, 28, signed for Worcester following the collapse of the Celtic Warriors regional side in Wales.
But Horsman showed his commitment to playing for Wales by continuing to live in Porthcawl and commute to Worcester.
"I am Welsh now - I wouldn't play for England if they asked me and I want to play for Wales as soon and as often as I can," Horsman told the Sun.
"It's a huge relief to have this qualification off my shoulders."
Horsman is now likely to be included by Wales coach Mike Ruddock in the squad for the autumn Tests series against South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and Fiji in in November.
He rejected an approach from England to join their Churchill Cup squad in Canada in June, prefering to wait for International Rugby Board clearance to play for Wales.
Wales team manager Alan Phillips said: "Chris is a quality player. We look forward to welcoming him on board."
