Wales back Rhys Williams looks likely to miss the opening Six Nations game with England because of a foot injury. The 24-year-old full-back cum wing picked up the problem in the Blues' defeat to Stade Francais last Friday and will be out for three weeks.
"He will be in contention for Wales but won't have played any rugby in the build-up, it's disappointing," Blues coach Dai Young told BBC Sport Wales.
Wales have also lost prop Duncan Jones for six weeks after a thumb injury.
Back-up Wales and Ospreys hooker Huw Bennett's injury woes have continued with the news that his neck problem requires surgery and he will be out for the rest of the season. Williams' injury increases the problems at the ailing Blues, who are on an eight-game losing streak.
Robinson has missed most of the season with injury |
Centre Jamie Robinson is to undergo a knee operation that will keep him out for the rest of the season. The 24-year-old Wales international, who recently signed a new deal at the Cardiff club, has missed most of the season with the troubling knee problem.
But fly-half Nicky Robinson is back in training and should return to Celtic League action in March.
