Jonny Bryant is hoping to establish himself at Cardiff Blues

The former Wales A player, 28, will be joined at the Arms Park by Richard Webster, who will share forward coaching duties with David Young.

Bryant is available for the weekend game against Leinster but will not be allowed to play in the Celtic League match against Dragons on 27 December.

"Being asked to join the Blues has been a real shot in the arm," he said.

"I can't wait to get into the action. Looking around the squad in training brought home the potential here and I desperately want to be part of it.

"There's talent oozing everywhere. It's been a bit of a barren spell for me at the Dragons and the Blues have some big games coming up in the next few weeks."

The arrival of former Wales and Lions flanker Webster continues the restructuring of the coaching set-up at the Arms Park.

Director of rugby Dai Young told BBC Wales Sport: "He's a really quality coach, which he showed at Bridgend.

"He won't only be a big help to me, he will also be a big benefit to the players and he can only help what we are doing here.

"He's pretty abrasive, he'll certainly get the players pointing in the right direction. They'll know exactly what he wants from them.

"Now we will have two people now working with the forwards which means we can spend more time working on the little things which often get overlooked and which can often be the difference between winning and losing."

The Blues are also hoping to bring in former Wales captain Rob Howley as defence coach.

"It's just a question of dotting the i's and crossing the t's with Rob," Young added. "Hopefully we can announce that in the next couple of days,
