Wales hooker Mefin Davies has hit out at the Welsh Rugby Union after his move to English side Gloucester. The summer demise of the Celtic Warriors region left Davies in the cold and forced him to take a semi-professional contract with Neath RFC.
He has now secured a deal with Gloucester until the end of the season, but remains angry at the Union.
"The WRU didn't give me any help off the field, it was very disappointing," the 32-year-old told BBC Sport Wales.
"On the field I was very grateful for the help with fitness and everything else, [Wales conditioning coach] Andrew Hore has been great. "But it was a hard time throughout the summer, then deciding whether to accept an offer from Stade Francais which would have ended my Wales career.
"It was a difficult decision to move to an English team, but you have to make the best of your chances.
"It was time to move on. This is right for my career and will help my chances of playing in the Six Nations in February."
