Wales lock Brent Cockbain is adjusting to life as an Osprey |
Brent Cockbain is sorry that the Celtic Warriors are no more but says the team's demise has benefited the remaining Welsh regional teams. The Wales lock was speaking as he joined his new Ospreys team-mates for a training clinic in Maesteg, formerly Warriors territory, on Tuesday.
"The four regions that are there now are much stronger and have much more depth," Cockbain said.
"We'll be more competitive this season in Europe and the Celtic League."
Cockbain is one of four former Warriors to join Lyn Jones' Neath-Swansea side, with Sonny Parker, Ryan Jones and David Bishop the others.
"It was disappointing the way it happened with the Warriors, but I think it probably did need to happen and we just have to get on with it as players," Cockbain added.
