The Ospreys could find themselves facing Gareth Thomas |
The Ospreys have arranged a plum pre-season friendly with Toulouse. The Heineken Cup finalists will welcome the Ospreys to Bagneres in the Pyrenees on 12 August.
Toulouse intended playing the Celtic Warriors as part of Gareth Thomas' transfer deal, but the demise of the Warriors left the French a free date.
The Ospreys will also play Zurich Premiership finalists Bath in a pre-season friendly, but the date for that game has yet to be arranged.
Meanwhile, the row between the Welsh Rugby Union and Toulouse over Thomas' transfer continues to rumble on.
The French side claim that they do not need to pay the agreed fee of 100,000 because when the Warriors went into liquidation it meant he did not have a contract with anyone else.
But the Union insist that because the move was agreed before the demise of the Warriors the French side must meet the payment.
''We will not be signing Gareth Thomas' release until the 100,000 from Toulouse is handed over,'' WRU group chief executive David Moffett told the South Wales Evening Post.
The French are thought to be seeking legal advice and are confident that a court would see Thomas as a free agent.
The Scarlets have agreed a pre-season friendly with Gloucester at Kingsholm on Friday, 20 August (1930 BST).
